Tuesday, October 3, at 6:30 pm in the Nadeau Hall Conference Room
Program Title:  Decision Making in Times of Injustice

Presented by Holocaust and Human Rights Center of Maine's (located at UMA) Executive Director Liz Helitzer, this program focuses on providing individuals with an awareness of the enormity of the crimes committed during the Nazi Holocaust, and the fact that thousands of ordinary people participated in perpetrating these crimes, while thousands more stood by as quiet witnesses. The material in this program reminds us of the importance of living in a democracy whose citizens are capable of making informed judgments, not only on behalf of themselves, but on behalf of a larger community.

This event is free-of-charge and all are encouraged to attend.

Liz Helitzer, Executive Director, began her time at the HHRC in January of 2012 as the office manager and an educator. In August of 2014 she was thrilled to be named Executive Director. Prior to that, she was the General Manager of The Theater at Monmouth in Monmouth, Maine where she also served as educational coordinator, company manager, directed, wrote original music and performed. Liz has performed and been the educational coordinator for several theaters throughout the United States. She has taught Holocaust workshops and guest taught theater and music workshops for over 10 years.
