UMFK to hold its 131st Commencement on Saturday, May 18

The University of Maine at Fort Kent will hold its 131st Commencement on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 1 p.m. in the University's Sports Center. UMFK President, Wilson G. Hess, will preside over the day's ceremonies.

Approximately 180 degrees will be conferred during the Commencement.

Also, three distinguished guests will be honored during the afternoon's ceremonies:

Former state Representative, John L. Martin, will deliver the Commencement Address. Martin also will receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree.

Ellery “Arms” Labbe, a long-time Fort Kent businessman and community volunteer will be presented with the University's Distinguished Service Award for his years of service to the people of his community and the state.

Former UMFK President, Dr. Richard W. Cost, will be invested as President Emeritus. The University of Maine System Board of Trustees awarded Dr. Cost the honorary title last July.
