The University of Maine at Fort Kent Board of Visitors is encouraging the public to attend a Business Breakfast featuring guest speaker, Kristen Wells.  The breakfast will take place on Friday, October 14, at 7:30 am in the Nadeau Hall Teleconference Room on the UMFK campus.

Featured speaker, Kristen Wells, is the Executive Director of the Aroostook Aspirations Initiative (AAI). At the breakfast, Kristen Wells will share the great strides the Aroostook Aspirations Initiative has made in supporting Aroostook County scholars in their pursuit of post-secondary education.  The presentation will focus on the success stories of AAI’s Gauvin Scholars and the important role these and other students will play in the future of our communities and region.  Some Gauvin Scholars may also be part of Wells’ presentation.

The mission of the Aroostook Aspirations Initiative is to support the educational goals of the youth in our region and mobilize the future prosperity of Aroostook County. AAI realize that education is the great equalizer, and that given fair opportunity and access to postsecondary education, the future will be brighter for the young people of the County.  AAI believes in investing in the region's economic future through investment in our young people.

Tickets for the breakfast are $13 and must be purchased by Friday, October 7 by calling 834-7557 or by visiting UMFK’s Madawaska House.
