The University of Maine at Fort Kent Summer Theatre, now entering its seventh season, is pleased to announce open auditions for its summer 2014 production of the Moliere plays “School for Wives” and “The Learned Ladies.” The plays will be presented together during each performance.
Auditions for these well-known French farces will take place on Thursday, June 19 and Friday, June 20 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the University's Fox Auditorium or by appointment.
Moliere's plays explore the humorous situations that can result when people give in to the wilder aspects of human nature. His works are wise, hilarious, and great crowd pleasers.
Actors of all ages and experience levels are sought, and for those who don't care to be onstage; backstage and technical volunteers also are welcome.
"We wanted to do something fun, funny, and lighthearted this year, and Moliere's plays will make a perfect segue into the events of the World Acadian Congress. Please come create some great theatre with us this summer,” says Aaron Bernstein, UMFK Summer Theatre producer.
The performances of “School for Wives” and “The Learned Ladies” will be held in Fox Auditorium on Thursday, July 31 through Saturday, August 2 at 7 p.m., and on Sunday, August 3 at 2 p.m.
