Organizers of the 2017 UMFK Fiddlers’ Jamboree have put out a call to area musicians and entertainers to participate in the largest jam session and house party, which has been held annually on the University of Maine at Fort Kent campus. The jamboree, which has become a St. John Valley tradition, will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2017 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in UMFK’s Fox Auditorium.
The event brings together talented musicians for an afternoon of impromptu performances. In the past, the jamboree has drawn both performers and audiences from throughout Aroostook County and western New Brunswick.
The jamboree has become very successful and the attendance has grown over the years. In addition to being an event that audience members look forward to each year, the jamboree also is a favorite of the musicians who perform.
Fiddlers, guitarists, other acoustic musicians, and singers are invited and encouraged to take part.
Interested participants are encouraged to contact Susan Tardie at (207) 834-7557 or toll-free at 1-888-879-8635, ext. 7557 or Warren Harvey at (207) 834-3939 before Friday, February 17.
