The University of Maine at Fort Kent is pleased to host Paul Doiron, author of the famous “Mike Bowditch” mystery series, at 7pm on June 5, 2019.  Doiron, New York Times bestselling author will be a guest of the Acadian Archives acadiennes where he will be meeting fans and reading from his latest book “Almost Midnight.”

Since “The Poacher’s Son” was published in 2010, Paul Doiron has added nine more adventures in the series. Doiron remarks on the evolution of the books and its protagonist: “In the first book, Mike Bowditch is such a mess – emotionally damaged, self-sabotaging – but over the course of the subsequent novels, he takes steps to become a better man.... It’s a heroic journey.”

Doiron has written ten novels starring Mike Bowditch, a Maine game warden, as his central character. “The Poacher’s Son”, first in the series, garnered rave reviews from newspapers and authors alike:

A native of Maine, he attended Yale University, where he graduated with a degree in English, and holds an MFA in creative writing from Emerson College. Paul is a registered Maine guide and lives on trout stream in coastal Maine with his wife, Kristen Lindquist.
