Blistered Fingers band members: Greg Cormier, Sandy Cormier, Chad Cormier, and Toby Saucier

Maine’s six-time award-winning Bluegrass Band, Blistered Fingers, will perform at the University of Maine at Fort Kent Foundation fall 2017 event on Sunday, October 22, at 1 p.m. at the University’s Fox Auditorium.

The group was formed in 1987 by husband/wife team, Sandy and Greg Cormier, playing guitar and banjo, respectively. Their son, Chad joined the group ten years later to add the mandolin and other instruments. Blistered Fingers’ most recent addition is Toby Saucier of Fort Kent. Toby plays the upright bass and also sings lead and harmony for the group.

Blistered Fingers' obvious love of bluegrass and field picking makes them a special group. With their delightful mix of original material, soulful ballads, and hard-driving traditional bluegrass they are a quality performance, every time.

Blistered Fingers has been awarded Maine's #1 Bluegrass Band of the Year by the Maine Country Music Association in 1998, 1999 & 2000 and also placed in the "All Time Greats" category. In 2004, 2005, & 2006 Blistered Fingers was also voted "Bluegrass Band of the Year" by the Maine Academy of Country Music. Blistered Fingers delivers high-energy musical entertainment and renders a truly superb stage show, which will-long be remembered by everyone who sees it.

Their live shows have gained the reputation of being some of the best in the northeast.

Please join us for an afternoon of great music. Tickets to the performance are $10 per person. You may purchase tickets through the UMFK Development Office Madawaska House, located at the Madawaska House, at 834-7800, or at the door on the day of the performance.

All proceeds go to the UMFK Foundation which supports endowed scholarships, student and faculty research, state-of-the-art technology upgrades, cultural events, library collections, and other campus projects not budgeted for in the University's annual operating budget.
