6th Annual "Young Artist Exhibition" on display at the UMFK Blake Library Gallery

The University of Maine at Fort Kent's Blake Library Gallery and Thérèse L. Provenzano, UMFK adjunct visual art instructor, will host its sixth annual “Young Artist Exhibition” featuring talented young artists from the St. John Valley public schools. The exhibit will be on display through Tuesday, December 2.

A closing reception and certificate ceremony for the talented artists will be held on Tuesday, December 2 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Blake Library Gallery. The public is invited to attend the reception and certificate of participation ceremony. UMFK President Wilson G. Hess and UMFK Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Robert Dixon will be present to greet and congratulate the students. Certificates will be given promptly at 7:15 p.m.

Schools participating in this year's exhibition are Wisdom Middle High School, Madawaska Middle High School, and Community High School of Fort Kent.

The young artists represented in the exhibition from Wisdom Middle High School are Natalie Oakes, Daley Pedersen, Mindy Guerrette, Nichole Oakes, Tyra Michaud, and Josh Stover. Their art teacher is Theresa Cerceo.

Madawaska Middle High School is represented by Elizabeth Theriault, and Julia Richards. Their gifted and talented teacher is Carlene Bouley. Madawaska High School also is represented by Mark Albert, Abigail Beaulieu, Jenna Burress, Jacob Chasse, Lucas Gendreau, and Alissa Mathieu. Lisa Welch is their art teacher.

Community High School of Fort Kent is represented by Joanna Becker, Andrea Kelly, Emi Jerkins, Emily Charette, Lea Freeman, Josh Birden, Emma Pooler, Kate Labbe, Sammie Carlson, Justin Gendreau, Austin Cyr, Robert Sirois, and Emma Pelletier. Douglas Clapp is their art teacher.
