With the promise of renewal in the air as winter loses its grip on the St. John Valley, the University of Maine at Fort Kent Student Nurses Organization (SNO) announced it will host a community health fair, “Spring into Health,” on Friday, April 10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the UMFK Sports Center.
The nursing organization has planned the event with a focus on holistic health. Everyone is welcome to attend, and the nursing students have geared the exciting fair to appeal to all ages.
Booths, activities, and presentations will fill the fair for persons wishing to explore ways of leading healthier lifestyles. A few of the features include on-site blood pressure checks, discussions of seatbelt and fire safety with police and fire department representatives, yoga instruction, and health related games for children.
“This is a great opportunity for nursing students to interact with the community,” said Jennie Charette, UMFK nursing student.
