Regional Round for National Spelling Bee
January 29, 2020

Young wordsmiths will test their skills next month when the University of Maine at Fort Kent’s Office of Community Education hosts the Northern District (Aroostook County) Scripps National Spelling Bee competition for middle school students on Thursday, February 27th at 6:30 p.m. in the Nadeau Hall Conference Room (in case of inclement weather on the 27th, the competition will be held Friday, February 28th at 6:30 in Nadeau Hall).

Professor of Music European Tour
November 27, 2019

University of Maine at Fort Kent Professor of Music and Education, Dr. Scott Brickman, recently returned from Europe where two of his newest compositions premiered. On October 31 at the Church of Mary Magdalene in L’viv, Ukraine, Brickman’s Dies Irae, a portion of the Roman Catholic Requiem Mass, was performed by soprano soloist Christina Makar, with Ferdinando Nazzaro conducting the Sacrarium Chorus and Lemberg Sinfonietta. This is the third such work of Brickman’s that Ms. Makar has sang since December, 2018.

Project>Login Partnership

In honor of STEAM Week, Project>Login and the University of Maine at Fort Kent’s Rural U Early College Program are excited to announce a new computer science course for the spring 2020 semester. As part of an effort to increase equitable access to more students and reach students in rural parts of Maine, this new computer science course offering will be available to Maine high school students as part of the Rural U Early College program. Students will be able to sign up through their guidance office at their high schools.
