Professor's Works in International Festival
September 28, 2021

University of Maine at Fort Kent Professor of Music and Education, Dr. Scott Brickman music was performed at an international music festival. On June 29, Trio Spillaert (piano, violin, ‘cello) premiered Brickman’s Dievs (2020) as part of the Osmose Festival in Brussels Belgium. Additionally, his Lament for solo alto flute was recorded by flautist Iwona Glinka and released on the Phasma label (Phasma music 031) on July 23, 2021.

Computer Science Credit Agreement

The University of Maine at Fort Kent is pleased to announce a new articulation agreement with the St. John Valley Technology Center. High school students who successfully complete the Advanced Technologies program at the St. John Valley Technology Center in Frenchville, Maine and who enroll at UMFK will now be starting their pursuit of a college degree with up to 6 college credits already earned.

Rural U Early College Free First Semesters
September 14, 2021

If you are a high school student in Maine, you can now earn the first semester of every major academic area offered at UMFK for free while still in high school, and you can do so while exploring a career as well. Rural U Workforce is a collection of six early college career exploration pathways: each made up of twelve or more credits that can be taken online while in high school. One additional pathway in forestry is not completely online and requires that high students complete forestry-related programs at their regional career and technical school.
