University of Maine at Fort Kent Professor of Music and Education, Dr. Scott Brickman, recently returned from Europe, where he had his orchestral composition Restoration recorded by the Janacek Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Jiri Petrdlik on February 28. The recording was made possible by a University of Maine System Trustee Professorship Grant, of which, Brickman was UMFK’s recipient of for the Academic Year 2018-19. The recording will be archived and prepared for a future commercial release by Parma Recordings.
The University of Maine at Fort Kent will host its annual “Earth Day - Every Day” on Friday, April 26 at the Sports Center from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Approximately 60 first-graders from the Fort Kent Elementary School will attend sessions on topics such as ecology, environmental science, forestry, and biology.
The University of Maine at Fort Kent’s tenth annual Scholars’ Symposium will take place on Tuesday, April 30th and Wednesday, May 1st on the UMFK campus. The theme of this year’s event is, “Live LIFE: Your Voice, Your Success.”

The University of Maine at Fort Kent’s Theater Troupe will present, ‘To Kill a Mockingbird,” based on the book by the same name by Harper Lee. The performance will run from Thursday, April 11 to Saturday, April 13, with evening shows at 7:00 pm and a matinee on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
