The University of Maine at Fort Kent is looking for area businesses, organizations, and individuals interested in placing an entry in the homecoming/scarecrow parade that will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 11 a.m.
The parade line-up will be at the Fort Kent Courthouse from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. At 11 a.m. the parade will wind its way down Market, East Main, and end up on Pleasant Street.
The parade is among the most popular events of the annual UMFK Homecoming and the Greater Fort Kent Area Chamber of Commerce Scarecrow Festival held from Friday, September 18 through Sunday, September 20.
Plaques will be awarded in several categories, including the most creative, best musical, best non-profit, best business entry, judges' choice, best “Scarecrow” theme entry, and best “Harvest” theme entry.
