The University of Maine at Fort Kent Foundation recently held its ninth annual dinner/performance spring fundraiser event, which raised more than $16,000.

Most importantly, the funds raised from the event will help support endowed scholarships, student and faculty research, cultural events, and campus projects not budgeted for in the University's budget.

This year's event included a social, a five-course gourmet dinner, performance, and a post-performance reception. The dinner was catered and donated by ARAMARK food services.

During the dinner, UMFK President Wilson G. Hess recognized 12 scholarship benefactors established during the comprehensive campaign by presenting an appreciation gift of a granite plaque. President Hess also introduced the new directors, who will take their seats at the Foundation's annual meeting in August.

Musical entertainment was provided by one of the finest blues pianist, David Maxwell, in Fox Auditorium, followed by the enjoyment of a post-performance reception of dessert and wine in Nadeau Hall.

The Foundation is thankful for the continued generosity of all individuals who contributed to and/or attended the event. The Foundation also is very grateful to the following sponsors:
