A premier exhibition of photographs by University of Maine at Fort Kent student Sarah Englund entitled "Sarah Jean Photography," will be on display in UMFK's Blake Library Gallery through Wednesday, July 3.

Thirty-five awards and 17 scholarships were presented to deserving University of Maine at Fort Kent students at the senior class banquet and awards convocation on Friday, May 17 in the UMFK Sports Center.

The University of Maine at Fort Kent graduating seniors received their degrees at the 131st commencement exercises at the University of Maine at Fort Kent on May 18. University President Wilson G. Hess presided over the ceremony that conferred 148 bachelor degrees and 31 associate degrees.

The University of Maine at Fort Kent's Blake Library Gallery and Therese Provenzano, UMFK Adjunct Visual Art Instructor, will host the fifth annual “Young Artist Exhibition” featuring talented young artists from the St. John Valley public schools. The exhibit will be on display through Thursday, May 30.

Even as the campus prepares to award diplomas to some 180 members of the Class of 2013 this weekend's Commencement, the University of Maine at Fort Kent and its partners at Maine School Administrative District (MSAD) #27 Adult and Community Education are prepping adults for success as future college graduates through the hugely-successful College Access Program (CAP).

The University of Maine at Fort Kent's Student Teachers Educational Professional Society President Ivon Portellez (middle right) presented Cara Berube, (middle left) Aroostook Mental Health Center sexual assault specialist, a check for $200 on May 7 after Ms. Berube's presentation to the UMFK campus community about the reality of sexual violence.

The University of Maine at Fort Kent's Blake Library Gallery will feature, "Art Reminds Us" the work of students in Therese Provenzano's Art 430 Drawing and Painting class. The exhibition will be on display through Friday, May 17.

The University of Maine at Fort Kent will hold its 131^st Commencement on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 1 p.m. in the University's Sports Center. UMFK President, Wilson G. Hess, will preside over the day's ceremonies.
