The University of Maine at Fort Kent Waneta T. Blake Visiting Professor, in conjunction with, the Environmental Studies Speaker Series will welcome Author Den Latham to present on campus, Tuesday, April 22 and Wednesday, April 23.

The University of Maine at Fort Kent Student Nurses Organization (SNO) will host a community health and wellness fair on Friday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the UMFK Sports Center.

University of Maine at Fort Kent Professor of Forestry and Environmental Studies Dave Hobbins has been selected as one of only 18 faculty, nationwide, to participate in an Integrated Geospatial Education and Technology Training (iGETT) grant. The grant is awarded by the National Council for Geographic Education with funding from the National Science Foundation and with the support of NASA.

Rho chapter Kappa Delta Phi fraternity will host a color run on Saturday, April 26, at 11 a.m. at the 10^th Mountain lodge in Fort Kent.

Lise Pelletier, director of the Acadian Archives acadiennes at the University of Maine at Fort Kent, taught the history of Acadians and of the St. John Valley at a training workshop for local teachers. The workshop was held at the Archives on Friday, March 7, 2014.

Dr. Robert Dixon, vice president for academic affairs at the University of Maine at Fort Kent, has announced that 302 students were named to the Dean's List for the fall 2013 semester.

Students attaining the honor must be degree candidates, enrolled as a full-time student or a part-time student, and must maintain a 3.20 grade point average on a 4.0 scale for the semester with no grades below a “C.”

Noted scholar Dr. Mark Richard will appear at the University of Maine at Fort Kent annual Presidential Lecture Series on Thursday, March 20 at 7 p.m. in Fox Auditorium to discuss his book Loyal but French: The Negotiation of Identity by French-Canadian Descendants in the United States. The presentation is free and open to the public.
