The University of Maine at Fort Kent Environmental Studies Speaker Series will host a presentation by Emmanuelle Fréchette on Friday, April 15 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon in UMFK's Nadeau Hall conference room.

The presentation is titled “Remote sensing as tool for ecosystem productivity assessment and sustainable forest management.” In this talk, she will present remote sensing applications and recent research developments for ecosystem productivity assessment, as well as sustainable forest management.

"Tournées French Film Festival" at UMFK
April 1, 2016

The Tournées French Film Festival will begin on Sunday, April 17 and will run through Wednesday, April 27. All films will be shown at the University of Maine Fort Kent's Nadeau Hall conference room.

The festival will feature a series of six different contemporary French language films over a two-week period. The films will be shown in French, with English subtitles. Admission is free and the public is encouraged to attend.

Got maple? UMFK hosts "Sucrerie" on March 17

When an event celebrates the first signs of spring with Acadian music, traditional local foods, live entertainment and the unique experience of eating maple taffy that has hardened on the snow, it must be the Sucrerie. As the sap begins to run in the maple trees, the University of Maine at Fort Kent will host its annual celebration of the start of the maple season on Thursday, March 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Nowland Hall.
