The University of Maine at Fort Kent will host its annual “Sucrerie” on Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Nowland Hall.
Dr. Steven Gammon, vice president for academic affairs at the University of Maine at Fort Kent, has announced that 290 full-time and 189 part-time students are named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2017 semester.

Lise Pelletier, director of the Acadian Archives/Archives acadiennes at the University of Maine at Fort Kent, will be teaching a special five-week, ten hour course titled History of Acadie and the St. John Valley starting on March 7th and meeting every Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm until April 4, 2018. For the first time, the course also will be available online.
Young wordsmiths will test their skills next month when the University of Maine at Fort Kent Office of Community Education hosts the Northern District (Aroostook County) Scripps National Spelling Bee competition for middle school students on Thursday, February 8 at 6:30 p.m. in Fox Auditorium.
The University of Maine at Fort Kent is preparing for the region’s popular jam session and house party for music lovers at its annual Fiddlers’ Jamboree on Sunday, February 11 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in UMFK’s Fox Auditorium. The doors will open to the public at 12:30 p.m.
The trustees of the Maine Higher Education Assistance Foundation (MeHEAF) are pleased to announce the awarding of a scholarship for $1,000 to Steffany Caron of Fort Kent. Steffany is a junior business management major at the University of Maine at Fort Kent, where she maintains a high grade-point average.
Organizers of the 2018 UMFK Fiddlers’ Jamboree have put out a call to area musicians and entertainers to participate in one of the largest jam sessions, which has been held annually on the University of Maine at Fort Kent campus.
