The University of Maine at Fort Kent’s ninth annual Scholars’ Symposium will take place on Thursday, April 19 and Friday, April 20 on the UMFK campus. The theme of this year’s event is, “What’s Real, What’s Not: In Search of Truth.”

University of Maine at Fort Kent Professor of Music and Education, Dr. Scott Brickman, recently had his Concerto-Rhapsody for cello and string orchestra premiered in L’viv, Ukraine, at the L’viv Philharmonic Society, on February 26. Cellist Denys Lytvinenko was the soloist and Ferdinando Nazzaro conducted the strings of the Lemberg Sinfonietta.
The University of Maine at Fort Kent’s Acadian Archives acadiennes and the Maine Acadian Heritage Council will be hosting Dr. Michael Hillard, Professor of Economics and Director of the Food Studies Program at the University of Southern Maine to campus to present his documentary about the 1971 Madawaska Rebellion on March 22, 2018.
