7th Annual Young Artist Exhibition on display at UMFK Blake Library Gallery

Brice Carson "Birds of Paradise" Watercolor on paper Fort Kent Community High schoolThe University of Maine, Fort Kent's Blake Library Gallery and Thérèse L. Provenzano, UMFK Adjunct Visual Art Instructor, will host its seventh annual “Young Artist Exhibition” featuring talented young artists from the St. John Valley public schools. The exhibit will be on display through Wednesday, June 1.

A closing reception and certificate ceremony for the talented artists will be held on Wednesday, June 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Blake Library Gallery. The public is invited to attend the reception and certificate of participation ceremony. UMFK President John N. Short will be present to greet and congratulate the students.

Issac Chasse "Overpowering" Charcoal on paper Fort Kent Community High SchoolSchools participating in this year's exhibition are Madawaska Middle High School and Community High School of Fort Kent.

The young artists represented in the exhibition from Madawaska Middle High School are Kathryn Bosse, Celeste Lausier, Allison Cyr, Hailey Vanier, Samantha Boucher, Julia Richards, Skylar Morgan, and Ryan Chasse. Lisa Welch is their art teacher.

Jackson Ashby. Paper Mache and paint Community High School of Fort Kent is represented by Bryce Madore, Logan Trombly, Desiree Dumais, Sydni Pelletier, Isiac Chasse, Brice Carson, Bailey O'Brien, Jackson Ashby, Kelly Paradis, and Dawson Daigle. Douglas Clapp is their art teacher.
