Our “Intentional Road to Excellence” was the theme of the University of Maine at Fort Kent’s Campus Development Day Wednesday, August 23 and the collaborative work done promises to set a positive tone for the start of the fall semester. With President John Short and Vice President Steven Gammon kicking off the program, a variety of discussions and presentations were shared designed to develop and support the environment in which to thrive and to “build collaboration muscles.”

Helping guide the proceedings were Director of the University of Maine System Center of Learning and Organizational Development, Megan Clough, Tamara Mitchell, Director of Organizational Effectiveness, and Kim Marie Jenkins, LEAN Coordinator of Continuous Improvement. Together they visited such topics as “Igniting the Chain Reaction of Collaborative Excellence,” “Higher Performing Teams,” “Healthily Handling Conflict,” and “the University Experience.”

With the ongoing support of both the campus Office of Human Resources and University of Maine System Office of Human Resources as well, maintaining the momentum throughout the fall semester and beyond remains a top priority.
