Commencement

University of Maine at Fort Kent • 23 University Drive, Fort Kent, ME 04743

Graduation Procedures

Apply for Graduation

You must file an application for graduation. Applying early will help determine if you meet all of your degree requirements. It is strongly recommended that you contact your advisor to finalize your plan for degree completion.

To participate in Commencement Activities, you must have an application on file no later than March 18, 2022, and you must meet all program requirements based on a review of your application.

If your degree information looks incorrect, please contact your advisor.

Additional Information

Check any holds (examples below) you may have on your account because diplomas and official transcripts cannot be issued unless all financial obligations are cleared.

Students with holds on their account are still allowed to attend Commencement Ceremony.

Payment of Bills

If you have a balance, you will receive a blank diploma with an insert indicating the need to see the Business Office regarding your unmet financial obligations. All amounts due must be paid in full before diplomas and transcripts are released. If you have any questions, please contact the UMFK Business Office at: (207) 834-8650.

Exit Interviews

All graduating students with outstanding loans will be asked by letter at the beginning of April to complete an Exit Counseling session online. This interview is required before diplomas and transcripts are released. If you have any questions, please contact the UMFK Student Financial Aid Office at: (207) 834-7606.

Return of Library Materials

Graduating students should return borrowed library materials prior to commencement and resolve outstanding issues with respect to fines and fees owed. Failure to do so may result in diplomas and transcripts being withheld. If you have any questions, please contact the UMFK Blake Library at (207) 834-7526.
