Dr. Kaisa G. Holloway Cripps received her doctoral degree in management from the University of Maryland University College and her master’s in business administration from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. She has taught marketing, management, economics, and sustainable development courses in academia for more than a decade.

Dr. Holloway has served as a lecturer and administrator in higher education institutions including the University of Massachusetts and Brandeis University. She has also served as the chief operating officer for a regional workforce board of the department of labor in Massachusetts, and as a newspaper editor with a Dow Jones local affiliate.

Dr. Holloway recently joined the University of Maine System Research Affiliates cohort and will be researching the potential to align with the systemwide UMaine Arctic Initiative to develop undergraduate educational and research opportunities during the academic year and summer on the campus.

Dr. Michael Curran

Assistant Professor of Business

Dr. Michael J. Curran received his doctoral degree in information systems and communication from Robert Morris University in Pennsylvania, his master’s in business administration from Chatham University in Pennsylvania, and his bachelor’s in history from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania. He has taught economics, among other business-related subjects, for more than a decade.

For the last few decades, Dr. Curran has been teaching in higher education institutions, most recently at Robert Morris University for the last eight years. Prior to that, he taught at Strayer University for 16 years where he was named a

Distinguished Professor of Business. He taught at DeVry University for six years and Pittsburgh Technical Institute for seven. Dr. Curran has published pieces in peer-reviewed publications multiple times throughout his career, focusing his research on technology and how it impacts communication in higher education.

Dr. Curran earned his Bachelor's degree in History from Slippery Rock University, his MBA in Business from Chatham University, and his doctorate in Information Systems and Communication from Robert Morris University. In his spare time, he enjoys participating in community theater, researching different topics and writing.
