I am an Accelerated Nursing student if I have completed a Bachelor's degree and want to pursue an accelerated Nursing program

I am a RN to BSN student if I completed an Associate's degree or Diploma program in Nursing and want to pursue our online RN to BSN Program

I am a Returning student if I previously attended UMFK as a degree student but have taken at least 2 semesters off without attending another college

• The Admissions Office will request your transcripts from the Registrar's Office

I am an International student if I am from a country other than the United States

• Credential evaluation report for high school and university transcripts. There is a fee for this process that can range from around $85 to over $200 (if you have transfer credit). This evaluation report will translate your grades into US equivalencies.

  We highly recommend you use either InCred (incredevals.org) or WES (wes.org) for your credential evaluation. 

  If you are planning on using another provider, they must be endorsed by either the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. (AICE) or the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Please view their list of endorsed providers here:

  What evaluation report should you pursue?

  • Document-by-document evaluation- students with only a high school transcript
  • Course-by-course evaluation- students with a high school transcript AND advanced level work; advanced level work could include A-levels, CXC's, CAPE exams, etc.
  • Course-by-course evaluation- students with college/university work completed outside of the United States.
• Proof of language proficiency (if English is not your first language)

For most majors a minimum cumulative GPA of at least a 2.0 on a 4.0 scale is required. Students applying for the Nursing program must have a minimum cumulative GPA of at least a 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. You must have left your previous institution in good academic and financial standing. Letters of recommendation and life experience are also taken into consideration.

• A completed Bachelor's degree in any program from an accredited institution
• A minimum cumulative GPA of least a 3.2 on a 4.0 scale
• A college level Statistics course and a course(s) in Anatomy & Physiology that covers all body systems; grades must be a C or above in each (consult with Registrar if questions arise about whether specific courses apply).
• Admission deadline for the summer semester is March 30th. Admission deadline for the fall semester is July 15th.
• The first semester is 2-3 online courses. Students in the summer session are required to arrive in mid-August to complete the clinical skills labs associated with their summer courses. Students in the fall session are required to arrive in early January to complete their clinical skills labs.

• A completed Associate's degree or Diploma program in Nursing from an accredited institution

• TOEFL score of 500 (paper) or 61 (internet) OR a 5.0 on the IELTS, International English Language Testing System OR a score of 500 on the SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section (only required for students from non-English speaking countries only)
• Letters of recommendation and life experience are also taken into consideration
